AlJaber Engineering’s Managing Director wins top industry award

At the ConstructionWeek Awards – Qatar 2011, held on September 26, at Doha’s Four Seasons Hotel, AlJaber Engineering’s Managing Director, Osama Hadid, was recognised as the ‘Construction Executive of the Year’. AlJaber engineering is a leading Qatari general contractor and an affiliate of AlJaber Holding.

ConstructionWeek, published out of Dubai, is the region’s foremost construction publication and the awards which take place annually under its auspices are similarly recognised.  The awards that took place on Monday were the inaugural Qatar ‘edition’, as the country’s construction industry continues to rise in prominence in regional and global terms.

The awards seek to recognise and reward individual excellence, corporate prowess and project success and there were a total of 14 winners – joint and individual – on the night. Entries were judged by a jury of industry peers, giving the ConstructionWeek Awards – Qatar 2011 an independent and credible reputation.

Under the direction of its Chairman Mr Mohamed Sultan AlJaber, AlJaber Engineering has successfully taken advantage of Qatar’s decision to expand and develop its infrastructure, building a strong portfolio of projects in the country. AlJaber Engineering has become a leader in the Qatari construction market, executing major turnkey projects in a variety of sectors, including highways, roads and infrastructure; oil, gas, petrochemical and industrial facilities and landmark buildings. It is this outstanding and swift growth that led to Hadid’s latest recognition.

Speaking of the award, Osama Hadid commented, “It’s obviously a great honour to receive such a prestigious award at the ConstructionWeek Award held for the first time in Qatar. Great things are being achieved at AlJaber Engineering and it’s remarkable that this has been recognised. This award is not just for me though, it’s an affirmation from ConstructionWeek and our industry peers that every member of AlJaber Engineering’s is pulling in the same, successful direction.”
